Assessment of China's Market for Power Converters
A GCiS Limited Publication Study Published December, 2010
Surging demand in renewable energy markets like wind and solar are driving the growth rate of power converters into double digit territory. Defined as both AC rectifiers and DC inverters, the domestic power converters market in China (target market) is valued at over USD 1 Bn in revenues as of year-end 2009. This study focuses on domestic sales of four product categories. For inverters all power ratings above and including 10 watts for "on-grid" (including grid-tie) and "off-grid" applications. For rectifiers (referred to as converters in the study) "large" converters rated over 1 Mw, and "small" converters rated below 1 Mw.
This GCiS market study draws on a three month, in-depth primary survey of around 100 of the market's supply, channel and end-users. This report is essential reading for any professional needing accurate and detailed strategic information of this market.
